Stretching from the Eilat Mountains to the Bay of Eilat

The Upper Gishron is a pleasant, circular route (the start and finish point are the same) that takes us along a dry riverbed, passing by spectacular canyons formed from colorful sandstone.

Along the way, we’ll come across a stunning dry waterfall, where you can choose to rappel down or walk around. The challenge of walking through the entire canyon will take a full day to complete; however, the walk is easy for families to enjoy.

Sturdy closed shoes (sneakers) will be acceptable but hiking boots are recommended. Water shoes and sandals are not sturdy enough.

Yes, even though it is on the border with Eygpt it is considered a safe site and a lot of people travel there.
If you would like to do this hike in the summer, it’s best to go in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the intense heat.
Depending on the size of the group and their ages, usually between 3-4 hours.
This hike is special because of the variety of colorful rocks and sediment. It is not an extreme adventure such as Nahal Yehoshefat which offers rock climbing and rappelling.
