This desert hike takes you through a stunning, deep stone canyon with panoramic views. Your entire body will engage in intense canyoning, using various technical methods to descend to the desert floor such as gripping with your hands, balancing with your legs, scrambling, and sliding. The hike also includes ladders that pass through a dry wadi, where you might spot birds, deer, and other desert wildlife while descending steeply toward the Dead Sea. As we go deeper into the canyon, its walls rise higher and higher.
There are many dry waterfalls created by flash floods that sweep through the landscape. We will descend through most of these dry waterfalls using fixed metal bars and thick knotted ropes attached to the canyon walls. Rappelling down two of the larger dry waterfalls is optional. Those who prefer can use the fixed metal ladder together with secured ropes to descend.
