Zanoach Cliff

Zanoach Cliff

Zanoach Cliff is located in the beginning of the Judean Mountains full of beautiful, large hills on the way from the coast line to Yehuda mountains. Just outside of Beit Shemesh, The Zanoach Cliff is in the heart of an evergreen forest, so you will enjoy the smell of the fresh green pines, together with the expansive views of the gorgeous mountains surrounding you. This is a fantastic site for rappelling and rock-climbing! Since we will have to hike in order to reach the site, this site is always pretty uncrowded even during the Jewish holidays and the busy times of the year.

First we will reach Chilbet Manot where we will park our cars and then we’ll start cruising on the downhill hike for about 40 minutes. When we reach the cliff, we’ll climb up to the top of it using bars affixed into the rocks. At the top, as your guide sets up the rappelling ropes and positioning, we will soak up the magnificent views and scenery around us. After the rappelling, your guide will set up the rock climbing station, and you will be able to experience the excitement of true rock climbing with a variety of levels, from beginner to advanced. You choose your level of interest! After these two rope activities, we will continue either hiking uphill to the starting point or downhill for another 40 minutes until we reach the main road. (In order to return back to the starting point from the alternate ending point, if you have two cars, you can leave one car at this site, or can take a cab back. It’s just a 3 kilometers drive away from the starting point.)
