Just outside of Beit Shemesh, the Zanoach Cliff is in the heart of an evergreen forest, so you will enjoy the smell of the fresh green pines, together with the expansive views of the gorgeous mountains surrounding you. This is a fantastic site for rappelling and rock climbing! Since we will have to hike to reach the site, this site is always pretty uncrowded even during the Jewish holidays and the busy times of the year.

First, we will reach Chilbet Manot where we will park our cars and then we’ll start cruising along the downhill hike for about 35 minutes. When we reach the cliff, we’ll climb to the top using bars affixed to the rocks. Whilst your guide sets up the rappelling station we will enjoy the magnificent views and scenery around us. After rappelling, will have a short, well deserved rest and our guide will organize the rock climbing. You will be able to experience the excitement of true rock climbing with a variety of levels, from beginner to advanced. You choose your level! After these two rope activities, we will continue either hiking uphill to the starting point or downhill for another 40 minutes until we reach the main road. (To return to the starting point from the alternate ending point, if you have two cars, you can leave one car at this point, or you can take a cab back. It’s just a 3 kilometers drive away from the starting point.)

Hiking boots are recommended, if you don’t own them, other sturdy closed shoes (sneakers) will be acceptable. Water shoes and sandals are not sturdy enough.
Once you have booked your tour with us, we will send you a confirmation and supply list email. It will have everything you should bring with you and it also has a link for driving directions to Zanoach Cliff.
The minimum age for rappelling is 5 years old but younger kids can rappel in tandem with the guide.
No, it’s all optional. You can choose to do only rappelling or rock climbing.
It’s about 35 minutes away from the parking lot with a beautiful walk through an evergreen forest. If you have a car with high clearance, you may be able to reach a spot that is 5 minutes from the cliff
